Government of India lauds the achievements of Chhattisgarh and Bhupesh Government

Chhattisgarh has won more than two dozen National Awards in short span of two years

Chhattisgarh Government’s efforts for development of the state and achievements in various sectors under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel have been recognized and awarded at national-level in past two years. Chhattisgarh has bagged awards for providing housing facility to underprivileged, rain harvesting, groundwater conservation, empowerment of panchayats, innovation in education sector, hygiene and sanitation, malnutrition eradication, rapid development of backward areas, highest production of foodgrains, employment under MNREGA and Livelihood Mission, effective implementation of children-related schemes, implementation of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, encouraging girl education in state and other achievements in various sectors. Recently, Government of India appreciated the Chhattisgarh model of Prime Minister Housing Scheme (City) i.e. ‘Mor Zameen, Mor Makaan’ and has decided to award Chhattisgarh state for them.
This award will be conferred upon at hands of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi in a virtual programme. In this way, Chhattisgarh has been awarded more than two dozens of awards in last two years by Central Government and other organizations. Government of India has congratulated Chhattisgarh Government for effective implementation of ‘Mor Zameen, Mor Makaan’- the inclusive model of Chattisgarh under Prime Minister Housing Scheme (Urban). In addition, Dongargarh has been announced to be the best performing municipal council in the country and would be awarded soon. Earlier, Bilaspur was selected to be awarded for renovation of river-rivulets, and Surajpur district was selected for National Water Award 2019 for water conservation works. Chhattisgarh was awarded as the ‘Cleanest State’ of the country under Cleanliness Survey 2020 organized by Government of India’s Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry. Likewise, Union Minister for Hydropower awarded Chhattisgarh the second prize under Clean India Campaign for having maximum number of ODF plus villages. Mukhyamantri Darpan Website and Mobile App developed for monitoring of Chhattisgarh Government’s ambitious scheme Suraji Gaon Yojana and other flagship schemes was awarded ‘Elites Excellence Awards-2020’ at national-level. Chhattisgarh was given this award by prestigious IT organization of the country Elites Technomedia, New Delhi under ‘Digital India Initiative’. Chhattisgarh was nominated for E-Panchayat Award by Government of India’s Panchayati Raj Ministry for effective implementation of ICT- Information & Communication Technology to empower panchayats and successfully execute departmental schemes. Chhattisgarh secured second position in the country for maintaining transparency, skillfulness and accountability in works of panchayats and utilize ICT for the same. The Panchayati Raj Ministry of Government of India selected three Gram Panchayats of Chhattisgarh for the National Award for outstanding work in different fields. Kanhabhaira Gram Panchayat of Kawardha Development Block in Kabirdham district was selected for the Bal Mitra Panchayat Award for best implementation of schemes and programs related to children. For effective organizing and empowerment of Gram Sabha, Banacharoda Panchayat of Aarang Development Block of Raipur District was awarded the Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriy Gaurav Gram Sabha Award, while Bhilai Panchayat of Charama Development Block of Kanker District was selected for Gram Panchayat Development Scheme Award by Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj. Chhattisgarh School Education Department was awarded the e-Governance Award by Computer Society of India. Bemetara district received Swachhta Darpan Award at the beginning of year 2020. The award was conferred upon by the Government of India, Ministry of Water Power, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), New Delhi. In the month of January 2020 itself, Dantewada (out of 115 aspirational districts of the country) was awarded the Silver Scotch Award for remarkable achievement in conducting the campaign for nutrition. Chhattisgarh was awarded the Krishi Karman Award by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the highest production of food grains.
Chhattisgarh was awarded 22 awards for outstanding work under MNREGA, Aajeevika Mission, Housing Scheme and PMGSY. The state was awarded nine awards under different categories of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), seven under MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme), five under National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) and one award for best performance under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana. These include 13 awards to be given at the state level, three to be given at the district level, one to the development block and four to the gram panchayats. The Adarsh Women Group of Chhattisgarh was awarded the Plant Genome Savior Award for conservation of rare varieties of paddy. This National Award is given by the Plant Varieties and Farmers Rights Protection Authority under Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India.
Janpad Panchayat Nagri in Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh and Sahaspur Lohara, Janpad Panchayat in Kabirdham district were awarded in the general category of Deendayal Upadhyay Panchayat Empowerment section under the National Panchayat Award 2019, organized by Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India. Kanker district was award for securing first place in the state of Chhattisgarh for doing excellent work for empowerment of panchayats. Under the National Panchayat Award 2019, 11 district, janpad and gram panchayats of the state were given national awards. These awards were given to the Panchayats for effective implementation of the schemes, for successfully organizing Gram Sabhas and other outstanding works. Kutru Gram Panchayat of Bhairamgarh development block of Bijapur district has been selected by Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India for Bal Mitra Gram Panchayat Award for the year 2019. Kanker district was awarded under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) for its outstanding work and significant contribution in the field of cleanliness. Raigarh district was awarded at national-level for its continuous improvement in sex ratio. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel was felicitated with BP Mandal Samajik Nyay Ratna. Mr. Baghel was awarded this honor for his decision to increase reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes in Chhattisgarh. Five National Awards were received for outstanding work in the nutrition campaign. Chhattisgarh secured the second position for the Excellence Awards under two categories. The state was given the award for finishing second in the ICDS-CAS implementation and capacity building, convergence, behavior change and community mobilization categories. Chhattisgarh also received three awards at district, block and supervisor, Aanganbadi worker, Mitanin, ANM level and another award at LS level for leadership and convergence. Chhattisgarh was awarded as the cleanest state in the country after securing first rank under National Sanitation Survey 2019. Ambikapur city was ranked second nationwide and Bhilai Nagar 11th. For better improvement in the field of health and nutrition, Kondagaon district secured the first position in the country; it was ranked second in the overall ranking among the aspiring districts across the country. Chhattisgarh is the only state in India, which got the first of four National Awards in various categories of awards on the occasion of National Voters’ Day (25 January). Raigarh district received national honor for outstanding performance in Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign. Three Aanganbadi workers of Chhattisgarh were felicitated with National Award for better implementation of Aanganbadi services.
