Chhattisgarh’s handloom and handicrafts wooing visitors at IITF

Chhattisgarh pavilion is all set to woo traders and visitors at the 39th India International Trade Fair (IITF) in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The pavilion at Hall No. 12-A gives a beautiful glimpse of the state’s tribal and rural crafts. Apart from herbal products, the pavilion also has a wide range of colourful fabrics, handlooms and dress materials to lure women visitors. Women entering the pavilion are awestruck to see huge collection of sarees, dress materials, duppattas, jackets, stoles etc. Other than the most renowned dress material of the state i.e. Tussar Silk in temple design, one could also find sarees made up of pure linen, bafta cotton, pure silk, dupion silk, linen silk and much more at various stalls and that too at wholesale prices directly from weavers and craftsmen from Bilaspur, Raigarh, Janjhgir and Champa districts of Chhattisgarh. The fortnight-long fair is based on the theme of “Ease of Doing Business”. Other stalls in the pavilion display bell metal handicrafts, wrought iron craft etc. Beautifully carved figurines in Dhokra art are grabbing the attention of foreign visitors.
