Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel directed officials concerned to be alert and ensure proper measures for prevention of corona virus, in the meeting of State Disaster Relief Authority held at his residence office. Chief Minister gave detailed directive instructions to all the District Collectors and Superintendent of Police via video conferencing.
Baghel said that Section 144 should be enforced in all the urban areas, but it should also be taken care of that people, especially those below poverty line, have access to sufficient supply of ration and medicines. He directed the officials to prevent gathering of people in groups. He said that as the aanganbadis have been closed and midday meal programme has been discontinued, food supply should be provided at doorstep for children. Mr. Baghel directed to cancel all the training programmes and to postpone all the exams. He instructed to postpone exams of CG board. Chief Minister instructed Railway Officials to make necessary arrangements for corona virus infection diagnosis in the major railway stations of the state. He directed the CRPF officials to be careful and adopt proper preventive measures in their camps. He said that duties of CRPF doctors and personnel will be required for these works. Chief Minister said that proper screening of people arriving at airports and railway stations from foreign tours should be ensured, and information so collected should be provided to District Administration. People coming from roadways should be screened on bordering check-posts. Inter-state bus transport service has been suspended. Overcrowding of buses running within state should be prevented and buses should be regularly disinfected. University examinations should be postponed as per UGC guidelines. Leaves and holidays to be cancelled for police, revenue, health, transport and other officials-employees.
Chief Minister said that spa, beauty parlours, malls, departmental stores, chowpaty, swimming pools, libraries, coaching centres and other public places should be closed down with immediate effect. Going out of hostels and PGs should be confined and organizing of rallies, gatherings, events etc should be discouraged. Fake news on social media and whatsapp should be stopped. People should be advised to organize wedding ceremonies at home. Chief Minister said that names and addresses of corona patients should not be revealed. Places for quarantine centers should be marked in respective districts. Record of people arriving from foreign countries or metro cities should be maintained. Moreover, information of people who had gone to other states in search of work and are now coming back to their villages in Chhattisgarh should be provided to panchayat secretaries and kotwars. Strict action should be taken against hoarding of masks and sanitizers. Chief Minister said that number of visitors in jails should be confined. Interaction should be allowed through glass barrier. Likewise, prisoners coming back from parole should be kept in isolation for 14 days. Number of visitors in old age homes should also be kept minimum. Minimum possible meetings should be held in Collectorate. Meetings should be held only if it is extremely important and necessary. Besides, communication should be done through webcasting, video conferencing, facebook etc.
Chief Minister said that no public gatherings should be held at bungalows of public representatives, ministers, MLAs, mayors, jila panchayat presidents, janpad presidents. In every district, district-core committee should be constituted for prevention of corona virus, on the lines of State-level core committee. Team should be formed for contact tracing. School Education, Women Child Development, Urban Administration and other department officials should be deployed for this task.. Security forces should be appointed at quarantine centers.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel gave instructions to arrange for labs for corona virus test in Raigarh and Jagdalpur. He said that all kinds of training programmes should be postponed. He gave instructions to provide special allowance to Health workers associated with quarantine centers and corona tests. He advised health workers to maintain cordial behavior with corona patients during treatment. In the meeting, Health Minister Mr. TS Singhdeo suggested that services of doctors and other staff of CRPF can be taken for prevention of corona virus and relief works. He added that security forces can be appointed at quarantine centers. AIIMS Director Dr Nitin M Nagalkar told that Isolation Ward and Diagnostic Lab should be facilitated in AIIMS. DGP Mr. DM Awasthi advised police personnel to be careful and alert while discharging their duties. The meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Revenue Minister Mr. Jaising Agrawal, Urban Administration Minister Dr Shivkumar Daharia, Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar, Industry Minister Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, Korba MP Mrs. Jyotsana Mahant, Chief Secretary Mr. RP Mandal, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Mr. Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister Mr. Subrat Sahu, Principal Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Mr. Gaurav Dwivedi, Health Department Secretary Mrs. Niharika Barik and Revenue and Calamity Management Department Secretary Ms Reeta Shandilya and other officials.
