Cabinet’s Decision
Raipur,30 January 2020/ Chief Minister chaired Cabinet Meeting at his residence office today. Following decisions were taken in the meeting :-
• Decision to request Government of India to repeal Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 (CAA), in view of the protests being staged by common people.
• Draft of Chhattisgarh Cooperative Society (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020 approved. Under which
“Any society may cooperate with any government undertaking, co-operative society, or any State Government approved undertaking or private undertaking for a particular business, including investment, financial assistance or marketing and management expertise.
Any cooperative society, with the simple majority of members present and voting in the General Assembly, can render support via resolution passed in its general assembly. It is mandatory for the cooperative society to get prior permission of the state government in each case before making such cooperation.
• Orders issued for formation of cabinet sub-committee to provide recommendations to ensure payment at the rate of Rs 2500 per quintal, against the procurement of paddy from farmers at minimum support price. This was ratified in the meeting.
• Presently, the actual irrigation capacity in the state is 10.38 lakh hectare, which is 18% of the total fertile land. For accelerated development of irrigation capacity in the state, the proposal to convert Chhattisgarh Infrastructural Development Corporation into Chhattisgarh Irrigation Development Corporation has been approved. Formation of Chhattisgarh Irrigation Development Corporation will be effective from the date of notification.
