Baghel inspects newly-built stop dam built under Narva Vikas Yojana at the cost of Rs 36.53 lakh

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today left from Janjgir-Champa district via helicopter and reached Jogisar gram panchayat of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district at 1pm. He also inspected the stop dam built under Narva Vikas Yojana at the cost of Rs 36 lakh 53 thousand at Jaitrani Nala. On the occasion, Mr. Baghel inaugurated groundwater conservation works done on Jaitrani Nala under Narva Vikas Yojana at the cost of Rs 4 crore 99 lakh, sanctioned from CAMPA fund. Thereafter Chief Minister interacted with the people of the village. On the occasion, Assembly Speaker Dr Charan Das Mahant, MP Mrs. Jyotsana Mahant and Revenue Minister Mr. Jai Singh Agrawal were also present.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel interacted with the farmers namely Mr. Shobharam Oraon, Mr. Uday Goad, Mr. Shankar Goad, Mr. Thakur Bhanu, Mr. Mahesh Singh Rajput, who have been benefitted from Jatarni Nala. These farmers told Chief Minister that ever since stop dams have been constructed on Jaitarni Nala, they get water-supply from the rivulet round the year. Because of which, pets don’t have to wander for water and wild animals no more enter the village, making rural life safe for everyone.
Chief Minister told the villagers that State Government is reviving Narva (small and big drains) through water conservation and augmentation works under Suraji Gaon Yojana – Narva, Garuva, Ghurua, Bari. This will increase the availability of water in Narwa, improve the ground water-level in the areas around Narwa and maintain the soil moisture, which will encourage agriculture related activities. He suggested the villagers to plant fruitful and shady plants along the banks of the Nalas. Plantation of fruit trees on the banks of the stream will provide food for animals, resultantly they will not come to the village. This will make rural life safer. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel advised women of self-help groups to join various income oriented activities such as mid-day meal program, vegetable production, poultry, duck farming to become more financially independent and empowered. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel took information about the production, sale and payment of paddy from the villagers and talked about planting fruitful plants as well as the greens and vegetables along the banks of the Jaitarni Nala.
On this occasion, Bilaspur IG Mr. Ratan Lal Dangi, Chief Conservator of Forests Bilaspur Mr. Naved, Chief Conservator of Wildlife Mr. Anil Soni, Forest Officer of Marwahi Forest Division Mr. R. K. Mishra, District Panchayat member Mrs. Sangeeta Karsayal, District Member Mrs. Gunjan Rathore, Ms. Shahana Begum, Bhan Bai and a large number of district and police administration officials and villagers were present.
