Chief Minister addressed general assembly on concluding day of ‘Gandhi Vichar Padyatra’
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that Mahatma Gandhi showed us the path of truth, non-violence, self-dependence and compassion. Mahatma Gandhi realized the power of non-violence. He had unwavering faith in non-violence. Chief Minister was addressing the massive public gathering in the concluding ceremony of the weeklong Gandhi Vichar Padytra held at Gandhi Maidan of capital city Raipur.

Chief Minister said that on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, entire world remembered his contribution and how he made India free by following the path of non-violence. Mahatma Gandhi struggled for the rights of farmers and weavers. Mahatma Gandhi taught that labour class deserves respect. He united all the sections of society for freedom movement and gave the slogan of ‘Angrezo Bharat Chhodo’ and ‘Karo ya Maro’ and gave independence to India with the power of non-violence.

Chief Minister said that Mahatma Gandhi had first visited Chhattisgarh in year 1920 to support Kandel Nahar Satyagrah and then second time he had addressed general assembly at Gandhi Maidan Raipur in year 1933. On the occasion of 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, weeklong Gandhi Vichaar Padyatra was started from Kandel on October 4, which concluded today at Gandhi Maidan Raipur. He said that entire Chhattisgarh state is like a family that stands by each other through thick and thin. Chhattisgarh Government is working with this intention. Narva, Garva, Gharua, Bari is not just a slogan; it has the essence of Gandhi Ji’s vision of self-dependence.

Chief Minister congratulated the participants of the padyatra and appreciated their enthusiasm to follow the footsteps of Gandhi Ji, despite the challenges.

Agriculture and Water Resource Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey said that State Government’s schemes are inspired by Gandhi Ji’s ideals and principles. MLA Mr. Mohan Markam also addressed the general assembly. On the occasion, Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, School Education Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam, MP Mrs. Chhaya Verma, MLA Mr. Kuldeep Juneja, and Mr. Vikas Upadhyay, publlic representatives and a large number of citizens were present in the general assembly.
