Raipur,11 December 2019/ Tribal Dance Festival is taking magnificent shape of an international event, wherein international folk artists from 23 states of India and six other countries including Uganda, Belarus, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will portray respective tribal folk culture through their performances. This first-ever Tribal Dance Fest will have a splendid inauguration.
On the occasion, artists from various states and the countries will march past in their traditional attires. This colourful cultural mega event is being organized from December 27 to 29 at Science College Ground from 10am to 8.30pm. Nearly 1400 artists of 151 art troupes from 23 states of the country and guest artists from six countries including Sri Lanka, Belarus, Uganda, Bangladesh will also participate. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today reviewed the preparations for National Tribal Dance Fest and directed the officials concerned to ensure proper arrangements for comfort and convenience of the participant artists and guests as well as the audiences. Urban Administration Minister Dr Shivkumar Daharia was also present.
Secretary, Culture Department Mr. Siddhartha Komal Pardeshi informed that prizes for winners would be distributed on the concluding day of the event, which includes first prize of Rs 5 lakh, second prize of Rs 3 lakh, third prize of Rs 2 lakh and consolation prize of Rs 25 thousand. Each team will consist of nearly 50 artists. Mr. Pardeshi informed that artists can register for the event through the online registration system. Till now, 1310 artists have done online registration. The venue would have seating capacity of nearly 4000 people, along with food zone, shilp gram, book exhibition, stalls of forest produce, industrial promotion, Chhattisgarh’s history, tourism, culture, cuisine, etc. The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, DIG Mr. DM Awasthi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Gaurav Dwivedi, Principal Secretary Mr. Manoj Pingua, Mr. Subrat Sahu, Secretary Mr. P Anbalgan and other senior officials.
