Kosa silk readymade garments fascinate buyers at Chhattisgarh pavilion in IITF

Raipur:November-23-2019/ Kosa silk and cotton readymade garments from Chhattisgarh is selling like hot cakes in the on-going India International Trade Fair 2019 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. It is for the first time that weavers from Chhattisgarh have brought stitched handloom products at the IITF. Beautifully stitched Kosa silk kurtis, cotton tops, jackets and silk blouses with intricate embroidery at the stall are not only attracting women visitors but also male buyers are equally fascinated to see a good collection of menswear available here.
“Most of the stalls at state pavilions in IITF cater to women buyers. But, I am very happy to find something for myself here (Chhattisgarh pavilion). I loved the silk jackets and shirts in bright colours. They are just perfect for Delhi winters and wedding functions,” said Pratibh Gautam, who has come from Rohini.
Weavers at the saree stalls say that buyers mostly love clothes made from natural dyes. Another buyer from Indirapuram, Poonam, who is a regular visitor at Chhattisgarh pavilion, said, “I am a regular buyer of Kosa silk sarees. I have a good collection of tussar silk and I love the print and natural colours of these sarees.”
Essential oils having medicinal properties, available at the stall of Khadi Gram Udyog are also a hit amongst the buyers. Other products such as chemical free handmade soap, incense sticks, face packs, cotton towels, suits etc are also available at the Khadi stall.
Saree lovers can find Kosa silk sarees in different weave and colours at the pavilion. The sarees, ranging from Rs 2000 to Rs 15000, gives a glimpse of tribal culture of Chhattisgarh.
