Mobile Medical Teams provided free check-up, medical treatment and medicines in 445 slums of 13 cities

State Government’s new scheme to provide health services to 16 lakh people

Within one month of the launch of Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme on October 2, nearly 34 thousand people have been provide free medical treatment. Health Department’s mobile medical team has provided checkup treatment and medicines to nearly 34 thousand people of 445 slum areas in 13 municipal corporations.
It is noteworthy that nearly 16 lakh people live in 1567 slums of 13 cities in the state. On the initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Health Minister Mr. TS Singhdeo, Chief Minister Urban Health Scheme has been launched in association with hospitals under health departments to provide this population of slum areas easy access to health services. The initiative has got promising response. Under this scheme, in last one month, 8601 people in Korba, 6124 people in Raipur, 3066 people in Jagdalpur, 2528 people in Bhilai, 2222 people in Beergaon, 1897 people in Bhilai-3-Charoda, 1676 in Dhamtari, 1674 people in Durg, 1509 people in Rajnandgaon, 1402 people in Bilaspu, 1342 in Ambikapur, 1035 in Chirmiri and 897 people in Raigarh have been provided free medical facilities under the scheme. In this duration, medical teams have visited 108 places of Korba municipal corporation, 83 in Raipur, 42 in Bhilai, 38 in Chirmiri, 28 in Dhamtari, 27 in Beergaon, 21 in Durg, 19 in Jagdalpur, 13 in Ambikapur, 11 in Bilaspur, 10 in Raigarh and nine slum areas in Rajnandgaon to provide checkup, treatment and free medicines to people.
