Requested compensation for reduction of State’s share in Central Taxes
Bank branches and ATMs to be opened soon in 33 locations of naxal-affected areas

Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Mr. Bhupesh Baghel paid courtesy call on Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman, during his Delhi tour. Meanwhile, Mr. Baghel drew attention of Union Minister towards the important finance-related issues concerning Chhattisgarh state. Mr. Baghel requested for compensation for the reduction of state’s share Central taxes. Chief Minister informed that as per the central interim budget, Chhattisgarh state was entitled to receive Rs 26,014 crore, but this year the state’s share has been reduced by Rs 1690 crore. He requested for compensation of the reduction done in the state’s share, in the upcoming supplementary budget. Mr. Baghel also requested to continue GST compensation grant even after year 2021-22 for next five years.

In the meeting, Mr. Bhupesh Baghel also requested to stop the facility of diesel-petrol on c-form from outside the state, under Union Sales Tax. He said that this adversely affects the revenue collection of the state. Mr. Baghel requested establishment of branches and ATMs of various banks in naxal-affected areas. He told that out of 150 naxal-affected areas, only 117 have bank branches and ATMs. He demanded opening of branches and ATMs of various banks in remaining 33 naxal-affected areas soon. Finance Minister assured of taking necessary initiative on the demands.
